The Basel Tattoo show is unique in Switzerland and one of the largest and most successful open-air military tattoo shows in the world. From 13 – 21 July 2012, the Basel Tattoo once again presents its catchy world-famous tunes, combined with skillfully choreographed march sequences and a vibrant spectacle of colors and light before the monumental backdrop of the former military stronghold, the Kaserne Basel. Since its debut in 2006, 360,000 spectators have been thrilled by this event.
This year, over 1000 performers of the greatest companies from around the world will again put on a show packed with highlights guaranteed to rock the foundations of the arena. Around 120,000 spectators are expected to visit this year’s Basel Tattoo.

Tuesday, 17 July @ 21:30 Section A3: 10 tickets for CHF 89 each

When talking about the capitals of art, cities such as New York, London, Paris or Berlin come to mind first. However, the city of Basel has succeeded in becoming part of these strongholds of modern art, as a result of the continuous artistic quality provided by its art fair. Over 300 galleries from about 40 countries presented the works of some 2’500 artists of the current and last century. 73 American, 55 German, 31 Swiss, 29 British, 29 French and 15 Italian galleries were represented this year. In addition Art Basel surprises with its unusual sections, which are detached from the context of the classic fair stand such as Art Statements, Art Features, and Art Unlimited. Ultimately, today more than ever, the association between the word art and the city of Basel resonates beyond the Swiss borders. The Fair has been developing its concept for more than 10 years in Miami and is in the process of associating itself with the international fair of Hong Kong this year.
